China is apparently leading in “fiber-to-the-room” installations, because blazing-fast wifi isn’t good enough.
To me, the most disturbing part of this pitch to increase the bandwidth on a room by room basis is that it will make us more productive. At what point does in increase in connectivity correlate with an increase in disconnect from the natural world?
